how to calculate the very high resolution seasonal Flash rate density?
specific formula to calculate it,
as when I plot the seasonal data the FRD is showing in decimals value over the lightning hotspot region too.

After speaking to the developers, they have recommended the following journal article, "Where are the lightning hotspots on Earth?" This will provided details on the flash density algorithm used. The DOI link is:
