Minor release policy and getting release notifications

by rwalker » Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:10 pm America/New_York

Hi, a couple of questions about release schedules and notifications.

1. It seems minor releases (10.1, 10.2, 10.3, etc.) are now scheduled/released about fortnightly. Is this now the way things are going to be?

2. I found that in practice the way to get notifications about new releases was to be subscribed to the (low-traffic) ceos-idn-interop mailing list. But I didn't see anything on that mailing list about releases 10.1 and 10.2. What's now the "best" way to receive notifications about new releases?

Richard.

Hi Richard, please find responses to your questions below.

1. It seems minor releases (10.1, 10.2, 10.3, etc.) are now scheduled/released about fortnightly. Is this now the way things are going to be?

SR: We will be publishing keyword releases every 2 weeks on Friday. The next release Version 10.3 will be on June 11.

2. I found that in practice the way to get notifications about new releases was to be subscribed to the (low-traffic) ceos-idn-interop mailing list. But I didn't see anything on that mailing list about releases 10.1 and 10.2. What's now the "best" way to receive notifications about new releases?

SR: Moving forward we will reserve the ceos-idn-interop mailing list for the larger releases. Minor releases and major releases will be posted on the GCMD Keyword Forum. The forum is nice because it is more interactive than the listserv and we can obtain direct feedback more easily. GCMD Keyword Forum: app.php/tag/GCMD+Keywords
