Degraded download performance for MODIS products

by sharkins » Wed Jun 16, 2021 1:42 pm America/New_York

Since the change in authorization tokens noted here https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/ ... /?id=63093 on June 1 we have noted degraded performance for a variety of MODIS products (MOD09CMA and MOD09CMG most notably). I don't have metrics for download performance prior to this but this token update broke several client containers using a version of curl compiled without ssl support. Including ssl support fixed the issue but we have since seen degraded download performance across several test platforms (dl speeds as low as 100 KB/s and repeatedly dropped connections). Were there also additional network configuration changes made during this token maintenance? If so are there any suggestions on how we might mitigate our dropped connection issues with "curl"? The dl speed is less problematic but the dropped connections are an issue. Thanks.

Out system admins checked and could not find any issue with any systems. Please try again and let us know if you still have problem downloading data.
