Instrument Keyword Adjustments for AVIRIS and AVIRIS-NG

by ORNL - tammywbeaty » Tue Oct 05, 2021 10:47 am America/New_York

In the instruments vocabulary I see an inconsistency between the AVIRIS and AVIRIS-NG Keywords that needs address.
Presently the Long_Name for Short_name="AVIRIS" is "Airborne Visible and Infrared Imaging Spectrometer", Please remove the word "and".
Presently the Long_Name for Short_name="AVIRIS-NG" is "Airborne Visible InfraRed Imaging Spectrometer - Next Generation", please replace "InfraRed" with "infrared" for consistency with the AVIRIS long name spelling
ORNL DAAC was recently assigned as the lead DAAC for the AVIRIS Facility Instrument which includes AVIRIS and AVIRIS-NG.
Thanks
Tammy

AVIRIS > Airborne Visible InfraRed Imaging Spectrometer: https://gcmd.earthdata.nasa.gov/kms/con ... sion=draft
Updated long name

Regarding 'AVIRIS-NG', according to https://avirisng.jpl.nasa.gov/, the naming convention should be

'Airborne Visible-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer - Next Generation'. Are you ok with that?
