An example of MISR's file naming convention is: MISR_AM1_GRP_TERRAIN_GM_Pxxx_Oxxxxxx_XX_Fnn_nnnn.hdf, where
MISR = Instrument Name
AM1 = Satellite Name
GRP_Terrain_GM = Georectified Radiance Product Terrain (Land Surface) Global Mode
Pxxx = Path Number
Oxxxxxx = Orbit Number
XX = Camera
Fnn = Format version of the product
nnnn = Product Version number
Individual MISR data set file naming conventions are found in the
Project Guide.

The path and block can be calculated by inputing the lat. and lon..But how to get the orbit number?

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in MISR data.
The ASDC offers two tools that allows you to retrieve the orbit number.
The
MISR Browse Tool that allows easy access to images from the MISR instrument and the
MISR Orbit Tool which is an interactive interface for converting dates to MISR Orbit number and Orbit numbers to dates. Just be aware
MISR Orbit Tool uses the orbit start time to assign orbits to a date, while the
MISR Browse Tool will report any orbit that either starts or finishes on that date. Thanks.
