Regarding MYD11A1 DATA ACQUSITION

by ku.kk_5u » Mon Dec 13, 2021 1:08 am America/New_York

As we know the MYD11A1 LST data product provides the data acquired both days (around 10.30 pm) and night(around 1:30 am). Whether the data acquired at 1:30 am corresponds to the same day or the following day? Suppose if I download MYD11A1 data acquired on 30-01-2020, the nighttime LST layer corresponds to 30-01-2020 or 31-01-2020?

The time given is always local equatorial crossing time, so the local time for the example is from 30-01-2020. Where it might get confusing is that the time given in the meta data is UTC time and depending where your area is the UTC time may be a different day.

Thanks,
Brett
