Lat/Lon Locations for every return in GEDI Waveform?

User Submitted Question: There are not single Lat/Long locations for every single return in the waveform, right? The waveform product is like a distribution function of elevations / canopy height within a 25 m footprint?

That is correct, there are not single lat/lon locations for every single value represented in each waveform. Rather, for every GEDI shot, there are lat/lon locations representing the start of the RX window (latitude/longitude_bin0) and the end of the RX window (latitude/longitude_lastbin). In the Getting Started with GEDI L1B Data in Python Jupyter Notebook tutorial, we use the latitude/longitude_bin0 values to define the location of the GEDI shot, and the elevation_bin0 (elevation of the start of the RX window) and elevation_lastbin (elevation at the end of the RX window) to interpolate the 3-d location of each waveform value for that shot.
