Announcement of the CEOS-IVOS Workshop on the Inter-comparison of large scale optical sensors

Dear colleagues,

This is to announce that ESA will hold a Workshop on the Inter-comparison of Large Scale Optical Sensors on behalf of the IVOS (Infrared Visible OpticalSensors) subgroup of the CEOS Working Group Cal/Val. The workshop has the aim to exchange experience and knowledge on the inter-comparison of moderate spatial resolution imaging sensors and the combination of their data. A set of recommendations for CEOS Plenary, on the way forward in this area is  expected as an output from this Workshop.

The Workshop is confirmed to take place at ESA - ESTEC in the Netherlands on Tuesday to Thursday 12 - 14. October 2004. A short web story introducing the workshop and its objectives can be found on ESA's Living Planet website under the following address:
