Announcement: SeaDAS 4.6 now available

by obdaac_forum_user » Thu Jul 15, 2004 2:50 pm America/New_York

Dear SeaDAS Users:

SeaDAS 4.6 is now available on our ftp site.  This release includes support for MODIS Terra L0->L2 processing, and MODIS Aqua L0->L1A processing.

SeaDAS 4.6 Release Notes (07/15/04)

This release provides, for the first time within SeaDAS, the ability to process MODIS Terra data.  It also provides the ability to process MODIS Aqua and Terra Level 0 data to Level 1A, including Direct Broadcast data.

However, the user should be aware that files created from Level 0Direct Broadcast data have problems with navigation-related analysis functions within SeaDAS.  The most notable examples are the gridline and coastline functions, but there are probably others.  We are working on finding solutions to these problems, and we welcome any suggestions/solutions the user community might be able to provide.

Also, please note that our ftp site offers a modis_atteph directory, which contains Aqua and Terra attitude and ephemeris files, necessary for processing geolocation and L1A data.

We are also offering a new online installation facility, available through a link on our SeaDAS website.  We believe you will find it much easier to install SeaDAS by using this new online facility.

Enjoy!
The SeaDAS Development Group
