Re: download MODIS 504 gateway time out
We are aware of and understand the problem (504 Gateway Time-out error) users are facing these days in downloading data. Our team is working on a solution, and hope to have a release out in the next week or so. In the meantime, if you get 504 error try again after a short pause or at a different time.

Re: download MODIS 504 gateway time out
We were hitting so many 504 errors with that server/endpoint we switched to using the https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/opendap/RemoteResources/laads/allData/6/MOD02QKM/contents.html as described in viewtopic.php?t=3504#confirm_external_link-modal
We also find that the USGS server at https://e4ftl01.cr.usgs.gov is far more stable and provides faster downloads.
Can we expect the reliability and performance of https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/archive/ to improve with these mentioned updates and fixes and would there be any reason to use that server again instead of one of these two I linked above?
Thanks
Colin

Yes, that's what we are working for. Hopefully, after these updates are installed ladsweb should be stable.
