ORNL DAAC Request for New GCMD Project: SISTER

Hi,

As we're preparing metadata for the SISTER data collections, we find ourselves in need of a new GCMD project vocabulary entry, here are the details:

Short name: SISTER
Long name: Space-based Imaging Spectroscopy and Thermal pathfindER

Definition: The Space-based Imaging Spectroscopy and Thermal pathfindER (SISTER) is a 5-year NASA project (2021-2025) and one of the two pathfinder projects that support the NASA Surface Biology and Geology (SBG) mission. The objective of SISTER is to mature many of the workflows using community-provided algorithms envisioned for SBG, lay the groundwork to develop a robust cal/val network, and build a vigorous and expansive user community ahead of launch. It will enable evaluations that significantly increase the prospects for major scientific discovery in SBG's early post-launch period.
