I see that there are troubles with the MODIS (both Aqua and Terra) level 2 and level 3 products - both subscriptions and direct data access. Any estimates as to when theses products/services will be restored?

There was a production interruption upstream of OBDAAC that prevented L0 data from being produced. They have restored the operational missions (SNPP VIIRS and JPSS1 VIIRS) but the legacy MODIS missions are still delayed. We have switched to an alternate L0 source, so you should see some data start to fill in.
