Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Greetings!
I've been trying to "Reproject" some Sentinel 3 products on SeaDAS 8.3.0 but get the following error after trying to insert the name of the source product (the product does not appear in the dropdown menu whether the product is open or closed in the program). I have also tried with SNAP software and got the exact error text.
ERROR: "Product [NAME OF THE PRODUCT FILE.nc] is not a valid source".
What can I do to solve this issue?
Thanks,
Carla

Re: Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Please share with us the file name of one S3 file you are trying to reproject. Make sure your file name does not contain space
Re: Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Hi,
Thanks for your response. I've been trying to upload the "chl_oc4me.nc" product file. After the file is selected using the "..." instead of the dropdown, the complete path appears in the projection window source product name's space. I have also saved this file as "chloc4me.nc" on the Desktop and continues to say it is not a valid source.
This is the complete file name that appears as part of the path S3B_OL_2_WFR____20181024T142915_20181024T143215_20210718T045621_0179_016_153______MAR_R_NT_003.SEN3\chl_oc4me.nc

Re: Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Did you generate the file S3B_OL_2_WFR____20181024T142915_20181024T143215_20210718T045621_0179_016_153______MAR_R_NT_003.SEN3\chl_oc4me.nc ? Is this a level 2 file? Can you open the file in SeaDAS GUI?
Are you using Windows? Can you do SeaDAS-Toolbox -> Software & System Info and post the result here? If you are not using windows, you should not have "\" in your path
Where did you download the file, if you didn't generate the file. I can't find your file either on ESA or NASA's site.
I can find S3B_OL_2_LRR* files on ESA's website, but not S3B_OL_2_WFR -- https://scihub.copernicus.eu/dhus/#/home
The L2 file on our site looks like this -- S3B_OLCI_EFRNT.20181124T134933.L2.OC.nc -- https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/directdataaccess/Level-2/S3B-OLCI/2018/297/

Re: Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Hi,
The file "S3B_OL_2_WFR____20181024T142915_20181024T143215_20210718T045621_0179_016_153______MAR_R_NT_003.SEN3" was downloaded from the following website: https://data.eumetsat.int/data. These files are Level 2 files and the products within the file are able to be opened in both SeaDAS and SNAP. The WFR at the beginning of the file name stands for Water Full Resolution. For some reason, I was not able to find WFR images at the other sites you mentioned, from which I used to download them before. Now I can only find Earth or Land Full/Reduced Resolution (EFR/ERR or LFR/LRR) images, as you mentioned. Yesterday, I did a test with a random file downloaded from NASA OceanColor website and I was able to open it in the reprojection window. What makes me think that there must be something wrong with my WFR NetCDF files.
I am using Windows. This is the Software & System Info requested:

Re: Reprojection Issues with S3 files
Thanks for the Software & System Info.
I found S3B_OL_2_WRR____20181024T141502_20181024T145915_20210603T115937_2653_016_153______MAR_R_NT_003.SEN3 at https://data.eumetsat.int/, but chl_oc4me.nc does not have lat/lon info or geocoding. Reproject needs geocoding for the source product.
