[MCD19A2] Band dimension variations for different subcategories

by earthengine_urs » Tue Oct 10, 2023 11:53 am America/New_York

We ingested MCD19A2.061 recently, we observed that for a few files the band dimensions are different for different subdatasets.

For example, in the case of MCD19A2.A2020092.h16v00.061.2023136094901.hdf
HDF4_EOS:EOS_GRID:"MCD19A2.A2020092.h16v00.061.2023136094901.hdf":grid5km:Optical_Depth_047
Size is 0, 1
HDF4_EOS:EOS_GRID:"MCD19A2.A2020092.h16v00.061.2023136094901.hdf":grid5km:Glint_Angle
Size is 240, 240

Is there any reason why optical_depth band dimensions are 0,1?

Hi,
I am not sure what is causing this issue. I pulled that granule from our archive (https://e4ftl01.cr.usgs.gov/MOTA/MCD19A2.061/2020.04.01/) and it shows the Optical_Depth_47 as 1200x1200 as it should be and the Glint_Angle at 240x240 as it should be. One thing I noticed however is your example below shows the Optical_Depth_47 as a 5k grid and it is actually a 1k grid. The Glint_Angle is a 5k grid so that is accurate. Can you let me know where you downloaded the data from?
Thanks,
Brett

Thank you, this was simply us using an incorrect subdataset string.

Best,
Simon
