TOTE-VOTE Release Announcement

by gmojica » Tue Oct 31, 2023 10:55 am America/New_York

The Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) has released data for the Tropical Ozone Transport Experiment – Vortex Ozone Transport Experiment (TOTE-VOTE) campaign. TOTE-VOTE was conducted by NASA from December 1995 to February 1996 in the Pacific region of the United States. The goal of the campaign was to gain a better understanding of background transport processes from tropical/polar regions to midlatitudes. There were 19 flights conducted by the NASA DC-8 aircraft and balloon sondes aimed at measuring the transport of filaments of air moved in or out of the arctic polar vortex and the tropical stratospheric reservoir. Ten collections are publicly available via Earthdata Search and the ASDC’s Direct Data Download.
