FTP access to CDDIS

by rsabbi » Wed Jan 24, 2024 10:58 am America/New_York

Dears,
I am developing scripts for download of relevant GNSS files: ionex, rinex, brdc, etc..
For redundancy I would like to add FTP download to the existing scripts (using http).
Anyway, the scripts check for already downloaded files to avoid unnecessary traffic.
The network team in my organisation that is managing the proxy is asking me to provide the port range for FTP, that is, the ports that will be requested by the control connection for the data connection of passive FTP.
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance,
Roberto SABBI

I believe CDDIS no longer supports FTP as an access method (for security reasons). However, the IGS files you are looking for can still be found via FTP at ftp://igs.ign.fr/pub/igs or ftp://igs-ftp.bkg.bund.de/IGS. Other sources are noted at https://igs.org/products-access/.

Good luck!

Dear Roberto,

CDDIS provides the means to download data via secure ftp. Please email me at lori.j.tyahla@nasa.gov and I can provide the ports.

Lori
