Dear SeaDAS Users,
The SeaDAS Development Team is planning a beta release of SeaDAS 7 within the
next few months. As SeaDAS 7 represents a significant departure from
previous versions, we will provide a transition guide to assist users in the
migration from SeaDAS 6. Essentially, we are looking to put together a list
of answers to the question "How do I <insert task> in SeaDAS 7?"
To aid us in prioritizing this effort, we are asking you as users of SeaDAS to
let us know what features are most often used. What would be your "How do
I..." questions?
Additionally, do you use scripting to automate SeaDAS related tasks? If so,
which tasks? Do you export information (data or images) from SeaDAS for use
in other packages? What information and which packages?
If you would like to get a general idea of what the new SeaDAS graphical user
interface will look like, you could download BEAM from Brockmann Consult.
http://www.brockmann-consult.de/cms/web/beam/
The SeaDAS 7 GUI is a fork of BEAM, and much of the user interface will be
the same. In fact, we hope that some of the modifications we are making will be
incorporated into BEAM as well.
If you are willing to help us out, please email your responses to:
