T2024.15 l2gen for PACE-OCI L2

by oo_processing » Mon Apr 08, 2024 3:08 pm America/New_York

Dear Support,

Regarding process of PACE-OCI data by ocssw:
(1) does the release tag V2023.3 support it?
(2) have T2024.15 installed, have one simulated data file downloaded from https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi/getfile/PACE_OCI_SIM.20220320T175448.L1B.V11.nc, by running the command
l2gen ifile='PACE_OCI_SIM.20220320T175448.L1B.V11.nc' ofile='test.L2' l2prod='Rrs,chlor_a'
I got an output file of only 7.9MB. After opening it, I felt it's not right, because there is very few values and all negative Rrs. But in the NASA produced PACE_OCI_SIM.20220320T175448.L2.OC_AOP.DITL.nc which was downloaded months ago, plenty of data are visible along US east coast and gulf of Mexico.
Please advise!

Thanks!
Yuyuan

Your best bet is to wait until after Thursday. You will have access to real OCI data instead of simulated and we will have a new T and V tags that will process the data with l2gen.

The real OCI data is out, so is SeaDAS 9. You can try it with the latest T tag T2024.16
