Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
Hi There,
Running pixel extractions from SeaDAS 8.1.0.
Getting the message "The pixel extraction tool has run successfully and written the result file(s) to <here my output directory>"
But no file is actually produced.
Any idea?
Thanks,
David

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
If you are running SeaDAS on Linux, Windows, or Mac Monterey, please use 8.3.0.
If you are running SeaDAS on Mac Ventura, please use 8.3.10.
Please also take a screenshot of the Input/Output Pane and the Parameters Pane of the Pixel Extraction GUI, and share it here.

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
Hello,
I am having the same problem running pixel extraction with SeaDAS 8.4.1 in a WINDOWS 10 laptop. I want to extract PIC values from MODIS-Aqua L2 images installed in a network drive. As @davidantoine, I am getting the message "The pixel extraction tool has run successfully and written the result file(s) to <MyFolder>" but not file is written.
I am including screenshots of the "Extract Pixel Value" tool set up.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me solve this problem.

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
There were some filenaming issues in previous versions of SeaDAS where the Pixel Extraction Tool appended file meta (which may contain spaces) to the file name and this oftentimes resulted in a file which was hard to locate on the system. This issue was fixed in SeaDAS 9.0.0. Most likely that is what you are experiencing. I highly recommend updating to the latest SeaDAS version.

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
Thanks a lot for your help.
I did update the version of SeaDAS and run the tool with no further problem.
Best,
N

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
Hi.
I'm having a problem with pixel extraction as well.
I was running SeaDAS 9.0.0 and it was working fine but SeaDAS crashed and since then pixel extraction has created just the pixEx_productIdMap.txt but no pixEx_measurements.txt. I've got the message "The pixel extraction tool has run successfully and written the result file(s) to <here my output directory>" but no measurement file is created.
I also got the message in the terminal:
The java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Dumping heap to /home/*****/.seadas9/var/log/heapdump.hprof ...
Heap dump file created [3515865580 bytes in 323,647 secs]
This huge file does not leave any space for SeaDAS to run so I deleted the file but I still got the same result. I've already reinstalled and upgraded to SeaDAS 9.0.1 but still have the same problem.
Can somebody help me, please?
Thanks a lot.
Claudia

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
Please post more specifics. Post a screenshot of your pixel extraction parameters, box size etc.
If you are getting heap dump crashes then possibly you need to decrease the box size.

Hi,
I am having the same problem running pixel extraction with SeaDAS 9.1.0 in a WINDOWS 11 laptop.
I want to extract PIC values from MODIS-Aqua L2 images installed in a network drive.
I am getting the message "The pixel extraction tool has run successfully and written the result file(s) to <MyFolder>" but not file is written. No pixEx_productIdMap.txt and pixEx_measurements.txt.
Restarting the software still has the same problem and has not been able to fix it.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me solve this problem.

Re: Issue with SeaDAS pixel extraction
Your GUI indicates that you are trying to write to "E:\out" so you might want to make sure you have this output directory selected correctly.
