S3-CYAN data before merging

by meg_amanatides » Thu Jun 13, 2024 1:57 pm America/New_York

Hello! Is it possible to get data a step before merging for the MERGED-S3-CYAN dataset (https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/directdataaccess/Level-3%20Mapped/Merged-S3-CYAN), retaining the S3A-CYAN and S3B-CYAN separately? My understanding of the MERGED-S3-CYAN dataset is that for areas of overlap between S3A and S3B on a given day, the maximum CI-cyano value is retained, but I'd like to see how similar these values are each day.

You can access the pre-merged files with the file search utility:

https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/api/file_search/

select the Advanced tab
instrument=S3A-OLCI
datatype=all
date range=default(full mission)

For Refined:
pattern=S3A_OLCI_EFRNT.*.L3b.DAY.CYANV5.nc
or
For Near Real Time:
pattern=S3A_OLCI_EFRNT.*.L3b.DAY.CYANV5.NRT.nc

similarly for S3B:
instrument=S3B-OLCI
datatype=all
date range=default(full mission) set to your period of interest
For Refined:
pattern=S3B_OLCI_EFRNT.*.L3b.DAY.CYANV5.nc
or
Near real time:
pattern=S3B_OLCI_EFRNT.*.L3b.DAY.CYANV5.NRT.nc
