How does SeaDAS 'L2gen' regrid ancillary data to match the resolution of PACE-OCI?

Processing PACE-OCI requires ancillary data, like meteorological data from MERRA-2. However, MERRA-2 data has a coarser horizontal resolution compared to PACE-OCI. How does SeaDAS 'L2gen' regrid this ancillary data to align with PACE-OCI's resolution? Thank you.

l2gen uses a bilinear interpolation method to spatially interpolate the ancillary data to the satellite pixel location. It then uses a linear interpolation in time (for ancillary data that are provided with bounding files).
