Aqua-MODIS Data on Google Earth Engine

by zferris2022 » Sat Jan 04, 2025 3:44 pm America/New_York

Hello,

Are there plans to add the 4-km PAR and Kd490 bands from <https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/l3/> to the "Ocean Color SMI: Standard Mapped Image MODIS Aqua Data" dataset hosted on Google Earth Engine (GEE) at <https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/datasets/catalog/NASA_OCEANDATA_MODIS-Aqua_L3SMI#bands>?

The GEE server-side data storage and processing with the rgee API is much more convenient than working locally.

Thanks!
Zach

The OB.DAAC is the official source of the Aqua MODIS PAR and Kd490 data products. Google Earth Engine is a third party service. We recommend reaching out to the GEE team directly if you have any questions about hosting of additional MODIS data through GEE: https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/help

Regards,
Sean
