GLDAS 2.2 forcing data

by c13465677117 » Tue Mar 18, 2025 10:21 pm America/New_York

data product
May I ask if ERA-interim were used before 2019 for ECMWF precipitation used as forcing data in GLDAS 2.2? What data will be used after ERA-interim is no longer updated after 2019? Or perhaps the one initially used was not ERA-interim. Thank you for helping me answer my question, as I have searched through a lot of information but have not found the answer.

We use the ECMWF Integrated Forecasting System (IFS), which is ECMWF’s operational weather forecast products (https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/documentation-and-support/changes-ecmwf-model). IFS goes through updates of IFS cycles, but the impact of changes are difficult to tell since we receive the 0.25-degree product.
