LP DAAC Discontinues Data Pool Distribution For ASTER GDEM, MEaSUREs and Community-Offered Datasets

As part of a larger effort to migrate data and services hosted on-premises at NASA's Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC), access to all Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs), ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) and Community-offered datasets via LP DAAC Data Pool were retired on Dec. 3, 2025. The NASA Earthdata Cloud is now the primary data archive for all NASA land processes related data.

Users currently utilizing NASA’s Earthdata Search will have no changes to their workflows. If you currently access data through the legacy on-premises archive, including through the LP DAAC Data Pool, please update your data access workflows and scripts to use the Earthdata Cloud archive. All data offered through Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS) remains accessible. Users are encouraged to consult the number of resources and user workflows available to access and work with data in NASA’s Earthdata Cloud.
