What's the resolution of ECOSTRESS gridded product?

by dictation » Sat Dec 06, 2025 3:32 am America/New_York

Hello guys,

I'm using the gridded ECOSTRESS data (such as https://doi.org/10.5067/ECOSTRESS/ECO_L2G_LSTE.002). The user guide says the resolution is 0.0006 degrees. However, when I tried to convert the HDF data to NetCDF, I calculated the resolution to be 0.0007 degrees. Is it a mistake in the user guide?

Thanks!

Hello,
They are supposed to be 70 meters which would be about 0.00063. However, if they are being processed at all the pixels would probably be resampled which would explain a small difference. For instance, if AppEEARS was used and the data was projected the pixels would go through some modicum of resampling. Something like this may explain the small differences.
Thanks,
LPDAAC
