Hi! I'm comparing OMI NO2 L2 products with models results. Most papers recommend using averaging kernel from products, but I can't find this variable. They only provide air mass factor.
The datasets I've checked are:
https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datasets/OMNO2_003/summary?keywords=no2%20omi
https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datasets/OMI_MINDS_NO2_1.1/summary?keywords=no2%20omi
I'd very appreciate it if someone could explain this. Thank you!
Sophia

Re: Averaging kernel (AK) from OMI products
Please note that there is a new version OMNO2 product based on OMI collection 4 data (https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datacollection/OMNO2_004.html).
Please use ScatteringWeight in the collection 4 OMNO2 level 2 files to adjust vertical column densities with your model profiles.
For instruction on how to use ScatteringWeight, please refer to section 4.3 of the readme file of the product (https://aura.gesdisc.eosdis.nasa.gov/data/Aura_OMI_Level2/OMNO2.004/doc/README.OMNO2.c4v5.pdf).
