ORNL DAAC Request for New GCMD Platform: Twin Otter
Hi,
The ORNL DAAC needs a new GCMD platform vocabulary entry, here are the details:
Short Name: Twin Otter
Long Name: Twin Otter
Hierarchical Path: Platforms > Air-based Platforms > Propeller > Twin Otter
Description: The Twin Otter is a twin-engine turboprop research aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada. Several organizations, including NASA, NOAA, and the Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS), have owned and operated the Twin Otter to support a wide range of ecosystem, atmospheric, and oceanographic research. The Twin Otter is known for its short takeoff and landing capabilities, versatile payload capacity, and low-speed and low-altitude airborne missions.

Re: ORNL DAAC Request for New GCMD Platform: Twin Otter
Hello,
With aircraft being both singular and plural, a suggestion for the following wording to clarify that the 'Twin Otter' Platform is referring to a series of aircraft.
Twin Otter refers to a diverse family of aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada that are widely utilized across several organizations. The Twin Otter is a versatile, twin-engine turboprop aircraft utilized by NASA, NOAA, and the Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS) for ecosystem, atmospheric, and oceanographic research. Renowned for its stability at low-speed and low-altitude, short takeoff/landing (STOL) capabilities, and versatile payload capacity, these agencies operate them to support specialized scientific airborne missions.

Hi Tyler,
If the cadence to production is every 2 weeks, that will be fine.
Thank you!
