We are working with the U.S. Group on Earth Observations (USGEO) on another report with aggregate statistics on the high-priority satellite Earth observation data needs of federal civilian agencies, as represented by agency submissions to the biennial Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) survey. We are using the GCMD science keywords to provide consistent categorization of the agencies' requested geophysical observables. While mapping the requested observables, we identified instances where an observable could not be mapped (i.e., a gap in the GCMD keywords). These spreadsheets list the potential GCMD additions, definitions, links, and notes:

Re: Requesting new GCMD science keywords
Katrina,
I apologize for the delay as we have had to prioritize other keywords and efforts to support NASA ESDIS priorities. We have this work scheduled in our upcoming sprint (week of February 16-27) to complete. Thanks for your understanding.
