In the past, I've been able to download Daymet data from the following:
... and then:
Unfortunately, the above URL is no longer available and suggests that the data has moved to on of the Thredds cloud servers. After registering with https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/, it seems that the https://thredds.daac.ornl.gov server redirects back to the Opendap servers.
My thoughts are that the new URL would be: https://thredds.daac.ornl.gov/thredds/catalog/ornldaac/2129/tiles/
but that is not the case.
Can anyone advise and point me in the right direction..?
Also, when I last checked, the data catalog contained data up to 2024, what I'd like to do is download any of the 2025 available data.
Thank you in advance,
KP

Re: Where can I pull Daymet data ? Opendap or Thredds?
Hello kpuln,
Thank you for your interest in the Daymet dataset. Daymet access tools and services have been updated. Here is a list of current access methods for Daymet daily data files:
AppEEARS : https://appeears.earthdatacloud.nasa.gov/
Daymet Single Pixel Extraction Tool: https://daymet.ornl.gov/single-pixel/
Earthdata Search Direct Download : https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search?q=Daymet_Daily_V4R1_2129&ac=true
OPeNDAP : https://opendap.earthdata.nasa.gov/collections/C2532426483-ORNL_CLOUD/granules/Daymet_Daily_V4R1.daymet_v4_daily_na_tmax_2023.nc.dmr
OPeNDAP URL with indexing subset:
https://opendap.earthdata.nasa.gov/collections/C2532426483-ORNL_CLOUD/granules/Daymet_Daily_V4R1.daymet_v4_daily_na_tmin_2024.nc.dap.nc4?dap4.ce=/y[5000:1:6000];/x[4000:1:5000];/tmin[0:1:0][5000:1:6000][4000:1:5000]
Keep in mind that Daymet is projected and OPeNDAP works on index ranges.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
Best wishes,
Michele
