Re: Empty TEMPO data files
TEMPO data files may be empty (or appear to be empty) due to a number of different reasons. The TEMPO data format is a grouped netCDF4 data file. Some software and coding packages cannot open the grouped variables in netCDF4 data, making it appear as if the data file is empty. If a subsetting tool was used, it is possible that the selected subset boundaries encompassed areas with no TEMPO measurements. In addition, some variables within the data may occasionally be empty arrays (i.e., filled with fill values) if the TEMPO instrument was unable to retrieve valid measurements during that scan.
