Additional VIIRS Version 2 Vegetation Indices Data Products Released

The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) has released an expansion of the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Version 2 Vegetation Indices data products. This release includes data from the NOAA-21 satellite, which was previously called Joint Polar Satellite System-2 (JPSS-2).

NOAA-21 was launched in November 2022, following on the success of the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) and NOAA-20 platforms. Like its predecessors, NOAA-21 features instruments that take measurements related to atmospheric composition, the carbon cycle and ecosystems, biogeochemistry, weather and climate, and water and energy cycles.
