Retrieving a specific version of a keyword scheme through the KMS API
Retrieving a specific version of a keyword scheme through the KMS API
I am wondering why the version parameter of the API request is not working anymore.
In the past I could retrieve a specific version with this request:
https://gcmd.earthdata.nasa.gov/kms/concepts/concept_scheme/platforms/?format=csv&version=21.0
However, with the new url
https://cmr.earthdata.nasa.gov/kms/concepts/concept_scheme/platforms/?format=csv&version=21.0
I just get an error message: "Invalid version parameter. Version not found"
Has there ben a change in API or do I have do format the request in a different way to retrieve an older version of a scheme?
Thanks, Karsten

Re: Retrieving a specific version of a keyword scheme through the KMS API
Hi, the new version of KMS does not support past versions. We do store past published versions in S3, so if you need the data, we can get it.
Re: Retrieving a specific version of a keyword scheme through the KMS API
Hi,
many thanks for your response.
Thanks for the offer to provide older versions, but I do not need a specific version at this moment.
However, we (The Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring) are using the keywords in our climate data records as netcdf attributes and validate these data file attributes against the specified version of the keywords vocabulary. Therefore, it was very convenient for us to retrieve also older versions simply via the API. So if you have a user wish list, I would certainly vote to re-implement that option as I'm assuming the S3 bucket is not publicly accessible.
best regards, Karsten

Karsten, thank you for your feedback. I have submitted a ticket to the development team as an improvement request to the KMS API.
