VNP15A2H 2026-04-23 data and NPP issue

Dear EarthData Forum,

I've seen that the VNP15A2H v002 (VIIRS/NPP Leaf Area Index/FPAR 8-Day L4 Global 500m SIN Grid V002) data of 2026-04-23 are not available in https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search yet.

Is this due to the issue on NPP data reported in https://landweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/displayissue?id=1344 ?

Do you know if those data will be recovered and, in case, the necessary time for doing that?

Is the next package of 2026-05-01 also affected by this issue?

Hi @dmagni This is related. We are checking with the team to confirm if the data from 04/29/26 (2026/119) 00:00 - 05/01/26 (2026/121) 04:54 (inclusive) will be produced or is lost. I'll followed up here when we have an answer. Please also see: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/alerts-outages/data-outage-alert-suomi-npp-near-real-time-nrt-standard-products for additional information.

According to the link to the Data Outage Alert you have provided, the issue has been resolved and products are available.
In fact I can see the data of 2026-04-23 in https://cmr.earthdata.nasa.gov/virtual-directory/collections/C2545314545-LPCLOUD/temporal/2026/04/23.

Hi @dmagni Thank you for letting us know. We're still confirming the 5/1 data will be coming in, I would expect it to but will let you know if we hear otherwise.
