Algorithms Technical Baseline Documents

by natalia.rudorff » Thu Aug 20, 2026 1:50 pm America/New_York

Where can I find the ATBDs for the ocean color products, and webpages with the descriptions of the OC algorithms and updated versions applied to each sensor?

Hello,

For the past few years, OB.DAAC, as well as the other NASA DAACs, have been working hard to transition our content over to the Earthdata website. You can read about the transition here: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/about/web-unification-project

While transition is still in progress, here are places you will be able to find documentation as more content is migrated over:

- On Earthdata Dataset Landing pages: under the ‘Documents and Resources tab’: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog/ob-cloud-pace-oci-l2-bgc-3.2#documents-and-resources
- In CMR collection-level metadata as a ‘RelatedURL’: https://cmr.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/concepts/C4124887072-OB_CLOUD.native
- On the Earthdata website, by navigating to Centers > DAACs, OB.DAAC, then clicking ‘Data and Tools’ from the sub-navigation menu. At the top of the page is an accordion that contains a description of each OBPG Product Suite. Each title links out to its’ ATBD: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/centers/ob-daac/data-access-tools
• You can find dataset landing pages from the Earthdata Data Catalog: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog

If there are particular documents you are still not able to find, please let me know so I can work with you, specifically, on accessing those.
