Sentinel-1d data in Opera-RTC

by si_nbourne » Tue Aug 25, 2026 10:01 am America/New_York

Hi,

It appears that the Opera-RTC catalogue does not include any data from Sentinel-1D.

Have tried search in EarthData search, in ASF Vertex and with the ASF python library.

For example, this AOI has no data since the end of June when S1A was decommissioned and the orbit was taken over by S1D:

https://search.asf.alaska.edu/#/?zoom=8.782&center=117.037,1.677&dataset=OPERA-S1&polygon=POLYGON((116.1%202.7138,116.1006%201.7206,117.0877%201.7208,117.0878%202.7142,116.1%202.7138))&start=2026-04-30T23:00:00Z&end=2026-08-25T22:59:59Z&resultsLoaded=true&granule=OPERA_L2_RTC-S1_T105-224452-IW2_20260623T215849Z_20260804T021827Z_S1A_30_v1.0

Copernicus lists GRD data in this AOI from S1D within the last month:

https://browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu/?zoom=9&lat=2.19124&lng=116.6597&themeId=DEFAULT-THEME&visualizationUrl=U2FsdGVkX1%2FsaRLh38zlnFgrjvuiA4mA27UWo0z%2FJQ%2FostLdYmKr5hK7vzSXCXQFNjivccczdKrgK%2F0muj2Jz7m%2FIhBh1Q0Zp3L3k%2B3FaxZjCGLvrEaClWqTrCYhdlhg&datasetId=S1_CDAS_IW_VVVH&fromTime=2023-01-07T00%3A00%3A00.000Z&toTime=2023-01-07T23%3A59%3A59.999Z&layerId=8_RGB-RATIO

Testing a few other AOIs leads me to believe that this is a broader problem of missing data from Sentinel-1D, rather than a localised issue in this AOI/time period. I can find recent data from S1C, but not S1D.

I noticed a related thread indicating that an issue in the delivery system had been fixed (viewtopic.php?t=8030). Is this the same issue, and if so how soon can we expect the missing data to be available?

Thanks
Nathan

OPERA products from Sentinel-1D aren't yet available, but the OPERA team is projecting they will be in production by late September to early October of this year.

Thanks.
