EMIT Version 1 Forward Processing Ending Soon

by LP DAAC - jwilson » Wed Aug 26, 2026 1:55 pm America/New_York

NASA’s Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT) Version 2 reprocessing is slated to start by the end of August 2026. To streamline processing, all existing EMIT data products will stop processing as new data becomes available. New versions of all data products will take their place shortly thereafter, and back processing of the existing catalogue will commence, which will proceed over several months. This transition will not cause any gaps in acquisitions, and the currently available data will remain accessible until full historical processing for the new version of products is complete. An update will be posted when the new collections are available.

The EMIT Version 1 and 2 data products that are impacted by this change are linked in the Referenced Datasets section below. Please contact NASA Earthdata User Services with any questions.
