You can find the land-sea mask for MERRA-2 within the two constant data collections:

M2C0NXASM : const_2d_asm_Nx: 2d, Constants Model Parameters V5.12.4 (Click to view variables).

M2C0NXCTM : const_2d_ctm_Nx: Constant Model Parameters for Usage by CTM V5.12.4 (Click to view variables).

Contained in the data files are land and ocean fractions. Using these fractions you can create land-sea masks.
