EMIT Version 1 and Existing Version 2 Forward Processing Ended

by LP DAAC - jwilson » Fri Sep 11, 2026 11:50 am America/New_York

Reprocessing of NASA’s Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT) data products has begun to create a full suite of new EMIT data products. To streamline the workflow, forward processing for all existing EMIT Version 1 and 2 data products ended on September 3, 2026. New versions of most data products will be released soon; data alerts will be posted as new datasets are made available. This transition will not cause any gaps in acquisitions, and the currently available data will remain accessible until full historical processing for the new versions of products is complete. An update will be posted in several months when all historical data processing has been completed.

The temporal range for each of the EMIT Version 1 and 2 data products in the Referenced Datasets section below has been updated to reflect the product end date and data state has been updated to “Complete”. Please contact NASA Earthdata User Services with any questions.
