Why there are two bins for black carbon dry and wet deposition each respectively?
What's the physics behind it?

Re: Black Carbon
Dear User,
Total deposition = dry deposition + wet deposition:
BCDP001 + BCDP002 + BCWT001 + BCWT002
Total loss additionally includes sedimentation and convective scavenging:
BCDP001 + BCDP002 + BCSD001 + BCSD002 + BCWT001 + BCWT002 + BCSV001 + BCSV002
For the physical processes, consult the GMAO Supplemental Documentation for GEOS Aerosol Products document on pages 2–3 (https://gmao.gsfc.nasa.gov/pubs/docs/Collow1463.pdf), which describes the hydrophobic/hydrophilic BC treatment and aerosol removal processes.
The MERRA-2 File Specification contains the definitions of the individual BCDP, BCWT, BCSD, and BCSV diagnostics.
