VIIRS version labelling

by benj » Mon Dec 04, 2017 10:59 am America/New_York

Hi

I've noticed that the version labelling for the new VIIRS reprocessing seems not quite as I'd expect. The NRT files (eg. currently V2017337235400.L2_SNPP_OC.nc) contain in their metadata:

:processing_version = "2018.0QLP" ;

...which is as expected. However, the Refined granules (eg. V2017317004800.L2_SNPP_SST.nc) contain this:

:processing_version = "2016.0" ;

I assume this is a typo and these files are really r2018.0?

Thanks
Ben

This reprocessing is only for the OC and IOP products. The SST processing_version is still V2016.0.
The reprocessing is currently in mid-2013, so any refined OC/IOP later than then will still have the old version.

Aha... I didn't even spot that I'd picked an SST file. Thanks, sorry!
