The saga continues attempting to build 7.5 on ubuntu 16.04

It looks like I've successfully built the opt packages (see attached buildit.log [whoops, too big to upload], and the tail end of the 18.04 thread), but when I try to build the main stuff, things fail. See attached makel2gen.log as an example.
Clearly I'm missing something related to netcdf, but I'm not sure what...

yep... Suggestion - add that info to the web page (https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/build_ocssw/) that has the build instructions.

Don had made the changes to the instructions while I was pretending I was on vacation. Don is now out, and I'm pretending I'm working again...so...ask and ye shall receive :wink:
