VIIRS L2 Downloading Issues

by itejeda » Wed Sep 30, 2020 1:54 am America/New_York

Hi,

I am experiencing some problems downloading VIIRS L2 Data (SNPP & JPSS1), since 2020-09-30 01:00 (UTC).

It looks like there is no new data published, the last file I could download was V2020273222400.L2_JPSS1_OC.nc.

I reproduce the problem using the web https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/api/file_search/ using the parameters:

- Search for: V*.L2_*_OC.nc
- Date(s):     Start 2020-09-29 ? End  2020-09-30
- Check on "Only search for standard processed files (i.e. ignore extracts, regional processings, etc.)"

No new data was retrieve after V2020273222400.L2_JPSS1_OC.nc

Is anybody experiencing the same issue?

Thank you
Iago Tejeda.

I'm not able to reproduce your problem, the data appear to be up to date.
V2020273222400.L2_JPSS1_OC.nc  create_date=Sep 30 2020 08:25:31.743 Z
The most recent:
V2020274082400.L2_SNPP_OC.nc  create_date=Sep 30 2020 10:18:46.913Z

Are you still having the problem?

Hi Tommy,

It's working now.

I've checked some logs in my environment. The issue started around 30-09-2020 01:30 and ended around 30-09-2020 08:30 (both UTC).

Thanks for your response.

Iago.

VIIRS L2 Downloading Issues

There will be times when a ground station will  miss a contact with the satellite and the data will have to be replayed during the following contact. Since our L0 processing has a dependency on adjacent granules, that missed pass results in increased latency for the preceding and following granules as well, presenting as a six hour gap in the L1A production.  These gaps are quickly filled once the missed pass is recovered.
