latency question

by fields » Mon Oct 23, 2017 1:13 pm America/New_York

I see VIIRS Rrs data that had pversion= "2014.0.2QL", while all the dates around it are pversion="2014.0.2".  The aqua for the same day is updated, so it seems like the ancillary met data is available.   Is there a problem with that particular date, 2017272, or do I just need to wait longer?  Bryan once noted that "refined processing in the forward stream will now be delayed up to 45 days while we wait for availability of refined ancillary meterological data from NCEP." (in this announcement)

There was an unrecoverable instrument anomaly on that day (29 Sep 2017)  that resulted in missing L0 data and partial L1A files.  The incomplete daily file required some forcing to get it through the system. You should see it on the data server shortly.
