query returns 85 sec NPP viirs files

Lo all,

I have been doing full mission queries for VIIRS data in various regions of interest. I get the result in the level1&2 browser, and right click on "list" and save as a file. While working with the saved files, I am seeing L2_NPP_OC files (as opposed to L2_SNPP_OC) in year 2014, on doys 052 and 053 (so far) and note below that the file should not show up in both my ANGOLA ROI and my CAPE_COD ROI as they are not even close to each other, nor do the L2_NPP_OC files exist. There must be a database error of some sort?

[bmurch@optics0 bin]$ grep L2_NPP_OC ~/Documents/lists/VIIRS_C_ATLANTIC_full_mission_filelist.txt

query returns 85 sec NPP viirs files

by OB.DAAC - SeanBailey » Wed Apr 11, 2018 2:58 pm America/New_York

When we switched to the 6-minute granule data we still had the 86-sec data in the archive, so it was left in the browser metadata.
Time passed.  We found we were happy with the 6-minute files and deleted the 86-sec data from the archive....forgot to remove it
from the browser metadata.  We'll fix that now

If the files you seek have names like L2_NPP, don't.  Seek that is, they shall not be found.  The 6-minute granules have the SNPP moniker.

Good to hear. I  wasn't seeking L2_NPP files, I was just searching for viirs daytime, and they popped into the list. And yes, I use that list for donwloads, and bypassed the L2_NPP files that populated the list.
