Sea Surface Salinity

by bbroman93 » Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:43 pm America/New_York

I noticed that it appears that the only satellite that measured for salinity was the Aquarius, and that only seems to be for 2011-2015. I'm trying to calculate climate anomalies that represent deviations from 2002-2010. Summer month climate anomalies for 2011-2018, specifically for Sea Surface Salinity. Is there anywhere where I might find ocean color SeaDAS compatible datasets like that?

Thank you,
Bianca.

Sea Surface Salinity

Bianca,

There are other missions that can provide sea surface salinity measurements: the European Space Agency's SMOS (Soil Moisture Ocean Salinity) instrument and NASA's SMAP (Soil Moisture Active/Passive) instrument.  SeaDAS might be able to read these data sets...
