L2 Rhos CLDICE issues

by jvaldezch » Wed Jul 17, 2019 7:48 pm America/New_York

Hi, I'm using l2gen in order to produce Rhos and getting AFAI product so we can identify sargassum on Mexico and the Caribbean but I'm getting some wierd results.

As you can see on the following image (AFAI) I got this result:

But if I extract a pixel value on lon -87.10716248 lat 19.69692039 using SeaDAS some of this data has CLDICE flags among other ones.

Wondering if there is something wrong with my processing.

L2 Rhos CLDICE issues

Without more details on what your process is, it's hard to say what may be wrong.  If you're seeing AFAI values where the l2flags array indicates CLDICE, then perhaps you're computing it over clouds   The rhos product is not masked for clouds or land (or much of anything), it's effectively just Rayleigh subtracted top-of-atmosphere reflectance.
