file_search API not working

Hi there,

the file_search API doesn't seem to be working as it used to, e.g.:

1. wget -q --post-data="sensor=Terra&sdate=2019-09-09&edate=2019-09-09&dtype=L0&addurl=0&results_as_file=1" -O -

should provide all MODIS Terra L0 granules for 2019-09-09. Instead it provides the first two granules for Terra and Aqua plus something else. Setting the end date to 2019-09-10 seems to provide all Terra and Aqua granules plus something else.

2. wget -q --post-data="search=PM1ATTNR.P2019253.1200.003&dtype=anc&addurl=0&results_as_file=1" -O -

does not give any return even though

wget -t 20 -w 3m --no-clobber --no-proxy

downloads the file. So it does exist.

Any thoughts?

Ah, there was a change on the back-end about a week ago.  Seems that change didn't translate "Terra" to the expected "terra", and rather than fail, treated the query as if sensor was not selected.
That was the first problem...the second was the date query inadvertently was treated as a date/time query.  Those issues have been resolved.

Your second case is a little trickier.  The older back-end defined att/eph data as ancillary, but the newer didn't have that same definition....oversight on our part.
A fix is in, but may take time to trickle down to all of the existing att/eph data.  Since you're asking for a particular file, you could simply leave off the 'dtype=anc' .
