Problem in reading Modis 1B data (MYDO21KM) in SeaDas

by hannapapkova » Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:01 am America/New_York

Dear Ocean Color cupport team,

Please help me with the difficulty encountered while reading the MYDO21KM file.

When I opening a similar file in Python, I see the integer values in EV_1KM_RefSB. As I understood from the literature, this is Earth View 1KM Reflective Solar Bands Scaled Integers. But when I open the same file in SeaDas, values EV_1KM_RefSB are automatically converted to floats.

I am sorry, but I can not understant that this floats values represent (reflectance or radiances), can you help please.

Kind Regards,

Hanna Papkova

The SeaDAS MODIS L1B reader reports the data converted using the reflectance scaling....so reflectances.

So the L1B reader automatically scales it to TOA reflectance for you? Do you have a source so I can cite that?
