GCMD SIF Keyword Definition
Hello GCMD, I think there's an opportunity to refine the definition of the SOLAR INDUCED FLUORESCENCE Keyword.

@ORNL - mthornton Can you post the recommended change here so we can review and then I can update it in our KMS?
Thank You

Re: GCMD SIF Keyword Definition
Hi. Our DAAC Scientist will reach out with a proposed definition to a broader SIF community and get their input. I will share that consensus as soon as it's available. Thank you.

Re: GCMD SIF Keyword Definition
Hello @GCMD - tstevens ,
Here is an improved SIF definition for your review.
Solar-Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence (SIF) is an emission of light in the 650–850 nm spectral range from the excited state of the chlorophyll-a pigment after absorption of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). As this is directly linked to the electron transport chain in oxygenic photosynthesis, SIF is a powerful proxy for photosynthetic activity.
Thank you,
