How to get temporal mean of MODIS swaths in Python

Dear Earthdata community,
I would like to know to get a temporal mean of multiple swaths of MODIS data (MOD_06)? I could plot multiple swaths into one figure, but wondering how to get temporal mean, like multiple days using python?
